Who Needs a Coach?
Who needs coaching? Should you hire a coach? Coaching clients can be divided into 3 groups:
In the first group are people who want help regarding a specific issue. Relationship problems, team issues at work, self-esteem concerns, health goals, fitness goals, time management roadblokcs, stress management, even driving incremental sales in business, all fit into the category of issues. Really, the issues are roadblocks and the client needs a partner to help them maintain accountability to getting results from themselves. Each client has a specific goal to reach and a coach can help them get there.
In the second group are people who are looking for ‘MORE’. Coaching clients looking for more are looking to find more of themselves. Whether It is healthier, more fit, better client attraction programs for their business, increase their self-confidence, or finding more time in a day, all these issues represent getting more out of the life the client already has. In these situations, the Coach is there to challenge along with accountability to the client. With all coaching, the client sets the goals to reach and the agenda to follow for each session.
In the third group are people who are looking for ‘NEW’. A Coach working with a client looking for ‘new’ is focusing on providing the client with new perspectives to ideas that are already in place. Clients looking for ‘new’ are expanding themselves, becoming authentic, stepping into new challenges and looking for better results in many areas including relationships (at home, work or in the community) business ventures, team building, wellness and personal development. The client’s agenda is key to success for creating a new vision for the client with the coach as support.
Coaching is usually completed in sessions by telephone after the client and coach have decided that they are compatible and can create a solid relationship for moving the client forward. Coaching is also available on-line so that the client can have even more privacy, or available in groups, where the client can participate and learn with others. Coaching is flexible to the needs of each individual, making it an optimal way to develop ‘More’, develop “New” and resolve specific issues.
